Still, getting this started...

Hello everybody, this is Joel M. now. I'm taking over the blog and hopefully we'll get this blog going. If we decide this is not user-friendly enough, we might create a Pleonast group, or maybe try another type of blog. SO, lets get blogging!

We're watching The Exorcism of Emily Rose in my apartment now and its making me think about demons today-

We definately find it easy to downplay the devils work in our lives... I'm in the middle of the screwtape letters, and have been for a while, and it definately opens your eyes to the ways that he wants us to think. Its scary, because we don't even know it, and often we even think what it is that we're doing is God's will, but its actually Satans! Constant self-examination and humility are so important in seeing the Devil's work...

Just some quick thoughts, and this movie is scary, i don't necessarily recommend it to the faint of heart...

i love you all, God bless!

Helping get this started...

What is the blog for?
- Daniel

This blog was started to create dialogue & community for members of the church at Bowling Green. I hope I can create a little bit of clarity regarding this.

1) Dialogue: A place where questions of discipleship are discussed. This would include: the spiritual disciplines, the Scripture, the church, and accountability.

2) Community: A place where people can connect while discussing. Creating a unity based on the love of Christ and the devotion to the Scriptures. Arguments will not be tolerated. We must learn to speak the truth and love and learn how to respect and love those who differ with us. I will not allow for arguments that are unprofitable and useless. This blog will hopefully be a tool for unity and community not a cause for division.

A prayer list can be added as a link and other various needs of the group to keep eachother informed and update on various things.

I will open up this blog for anyone to be able to post. If you want to post on this blog let me know and I can email you the login name and the password. We must keep the posts under the general discussion of dialogue and community. General annoucements will occur through email and not through this blog.

**
I pray for this to become effective, but for this blog to become a tool it must be USED. I encourage anyone with questions or with the drive to write some posts to go on with it. Encourage others to reply and check up on the blog for updates and continued discussion. Again I repeat this blog can become a very effective tool if used correctly and often.

So let's get going.

How Does the Disciple Live?

"How Does the Disciple Live?"
by Dallas Willard, author of some great books. I highly suggest checking him and his stuff out. He has opened my eyes up to a lot of things regarding the spiritual disciplines.

New Blog

Hey guys.
First post. Hope you guys can figure this all out. It's real simple.

#1 Are there any links you would like to add? I have a few...
#2 So far I have Joel Mcafee and myself as Admins. Which means we have access to posting new blogs and editing things. If we want to turn this into an open source thing for all members I am cool with that, but I think it is much easier to have a few who are familiar with blogging to help run things on the blog.

Hope this works out well.
